From PJ’s

Camp is always a highlight of my summer.  Why?  When one of the Steers boys arrived home on Saturday he says to their dad, Jeff, “8 boys received Christ as their savior.  How cool is that?”  This is one of the many reasons I think our camping program is fantastic.

Camp changes lives.  What impact will it have on the lives of not just the Steers sons, but all the kids who received Christ as their savior last week?  As well as all the kids (and counselors too) who attend various camps throughout the summer.

I want to thank Calvary for allowing me the privilege of being a camp pastor.  This is my 19th year and not only is it a lot of fun but I think I do it effectively and God is honored.  Souls are saved for the Lord.

I believe in service, too!  A little saying I think sums my feeling up is, “I believe, therefore I serve.”  How can we claim to be followers of God if it is not evident in our lives in some way?  It must be seen.

It’s my joy to go to build houses in places like Pass Christian, Mississippi and help in the clean up effort following the storm in Martinsville, Indiana.  I know Christ is honored when we strive to help others.  The Martinsville crew included: Tony Vandermark, Angela Eikenberry, Ernie & Marge Rakestraw, Heidi Freeman, Jerry Parker, Sam Freeman, and me.  God bless each of the volunteers.  We hope to get the pictures up on our website before too long.

It’s been a pretty big month for me.  I’ve been away from home for 17 out of 22 days.  I’m not used to doing that and it’s taking a toll on me. By the time your read this I should have completed a minor surgery on my left shoulder.  Please pray for me as I recoup.  I don’t bounce back as quickly as I used to.  J

Please never forget how grateful I am to be your pastor.  It is my great joy to represent the Living God among you.

With Everlasting Joy,

PJ
